The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 is one of gaming’s most anticipated titles since it was first revealed back at E3 2019. We expect the title to be released in Holiday 2021, but this is purely hearsay. Nintendo has stated that they will appear for the all-virtual event of E3 2021, which starts on June 12 to June 15, so hopefully, more information will be revealed.

According to Samus Hunter, a Nintendo Insider Leaker, they claim that Nintendo will be focused entirely on three aspects, two tournaments of Splatoon 3 and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and Zelda’s 35th Anniversary. They also mentioned that Nintendo would be stating their E3 intentions very soon.

Not much footage of this new Zelda title has been shown apart from the initial trailer. We know that the game is still being worked on, from what Eiji Aonuma said during the Nintendo Direct Presentation back in February 2021.

I‘m sure a lot of you saw me and thought there might be news about the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild game. Unfortunately, we don’t have anything to share right now. We apologize.

Development is proceeding smoothly, and we should be able to bring you some new information this year. For now, we’ll have to ask you to wait just a bit longer.

Well-known senior analyst Daniel Ahmad tweeted on May 6 a list of upcoming titles being released for the Switch over the next few years, and he noted that Breath of the Wild 2 does still not have a release date, but stating that this isn’t news. It is still labeled under TBA (To Be Announced), with even Pokémon Legends: Arceus at least having a 2022 date.

With the rumors of a Nintendo Switch Pro being in the works, it makes sense for Nintendo to potentially hold back the release of BoTW2 to coincide with the release of a new and improved Switch. This, of course, would boost sales dramatically; as BoTW’s performance was stable, it wasn’t consistent. But very much like Breath of the Wild 2 release date, the existence of the Switch Pro is unknown.

We will update this article when more information about Breath of the wild 2 comes to light.
