Closing out the Final Fantasy VII 25th Anniversary Event was a trailer that no one expected to see this soon. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is coming. Here’s everything we know about the highly anticipated sequel to one of the last generation’s best games.

Everything we know about FFVII Rebirth

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the direct sequel to Final Fantasy VII Remake, which was released in 2020. While not a direct remake of the 1997 juggernaut, Remake is a retelling of the beloved story. This retelling also takes some unexpected twists which set the stage beautifully for Rebirth.

Cloud and company have made their way out of Midgar and are hot on the heels of Sephiroth. Along the way, they’ll encounter new allies and many more enemies. Will they be able to stop Sephiroth and his reunion? Will Aerith be spared her fate? What of Zack? We have so many questions!

What is the release date for FFVII Rebirth?

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is coming in winter 2023.

What platforms will FFVII Rebirth be on?

As of right now, there is only one platform that has been announced. Much like Final Fantasy VII remake, it may be a timed-release exclusive.

  • PlayStation 5

What characters are in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth?

Being a continuation of the previous title, it’s safe to assume the lot of the major characters are going to be in this one. Depending on how far they get into the story, we’re likely to see all, if not most, of them.

  • Cloud Strife
  • Aerith Gainsborough
  • Tifa Lockhart
  • Barrett Wallace
  • Red XIII
  • Yuffie Kisaragi
  • Cait Sith
  • Zack Fair

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth trailer

Oh man! Oh man! It’s here! This trailer is short and sweet. It shows off the open world of Final Fantasy VII beyond Midgar. There are also a lot of ominous voice-overs between Cloud, Aerith, and it sounds like Zack. The stage is being set and we can’t wait to see how this is played out!
