The journey laid out before Serenoa Wolffort is a long and arduous one, and he’ll need all of the support that he can get to see it through. Fortunately, there are many people in the land of Norzelia who would happily provide aide to House Wolffort in its time of need, all you have to do is find them first. Acquiring some of these would-be teammates can be a bit confusing, however, so we’re here to help—here’s every playable unit in Triangle Strategy (and how to recruit them).
Playable character units
Starting characters
There are over 15 playable character units in Triangle Strategy, and each employs a different tactic when it comes to taking the battlefield. Mages, such as Cryomancers or Pyromancers, are capable of casting a plethora of visually stunning elemental spells. Hunters and blacksmiths are proficient in making a wide array of traps to debilitate enemies, while some of the stealthier units are skilled in afflicting opponents with various status effects.
Every unit in Triangle Strategy is a viable option in their own right, though you’ll have to recruit the majority of these potential House Wolffort members before using them. Fortunately, there are eight starting characters who don’t need to be hunted down, such as Serenoa, that still bring quite a bit of power and utility to the team. The eight starting character units in Triangle Strategy are as follows:
- Serenoa Wolffort (pictured top row, far-left):
- He wields a longsword in combat, using the skills he learned from his father to dispatch opponents. Serenoa is the Lord of House Wolffort and immediately playable as a character.
- Benedict Pascal (pictured top row, middle-left):
- He wields a canesword and support skills, sharing his immense knowledge of combat with his comrades to buff their abilities while fighting. Benedict is an aide to House Wolffort and immediately playable as a character.
- Frederica Aesfrost (pictured top row, middle-right):
- She wields a tome of fire magic in battle, setting both her opponents and the surrounding environment ablaze with powerful and destructive spells. Frederica is set to marry Serenoa and join House Wolffort, and is immediately playable as a character.
- Geela Breisse (pictured top row, far-right):
- She wields a rod and a variety of healing spells, using her magic to soothe the wounds of any comrades injured in the midst of battle. Geela is an aide and teacher to Frederica, and is immediately playable as a character.
- Roland Glenbrook (pictured bottom row, far-left):
- He wields a lance while riding horseback, utilizing the training he received from Ser Maxwell to pierce through enemy defenses. Roland is a prince of Whiteholm Castle and best friend to Serenoa, and he becomes playable during the first battle of the game.
- Hughette Bucklar (pictured bottom row, middle-left):
- She wields a bow while riding on the back of her hawk, raining arrows down upon unsuspecting enemies from the safety of the skies. Hughette is a member of the Kingsguard and charged with personally protecting Roland, and she becomes playable during the first battle of the game.
- Erador Ballentine (pictured bottom row, middle-right):
- He wields a shield in battle, acting as a stalwart defender of the young Lord Wolffort in his allies. Erador is the commander of House Wolffort’s military forces, and becomes playable during Chapter I: A Young Hawk Soars.
- Anna Pascal (pictured bottom row, far-right):
- She wields a dagger in combat, stealthily disposing of enemies using the skills she learned acting as House Wolffort’s spy. Anna acts as Benedict’s right hand, and becomes playable during Chapter I: A Young Hawk Soars.
Optional characters
Aside from the main cast of characters mentioned above, there are ten optional characters that can be recruited to fight alongside House Wolffort. The possibility of recruiting these characters is decided by the strength of Serenoa’s convictions, however, meaning that the choices you make while playing through the story will determine when you’ll be meet the members of this colorful cast.
Upon reaching Chapter V: Encroaching Darkness, you’ll be introduced to a new form of optional event—character stories. By meeting various requirements, such as having strong Liberty convictions or following a particular story route, character stories will gradually become available while viewing the world map.
Watching these miniature tales will provide a bit of background to the motivations behind each of these characters, along with unlocking them for use in combat. The optional character units that can be recruited to House Wolffort in Triangle Strategy are as follows:
- Corentin Jennar (pictured top left):
- He wields a tome of ice magic, using his skills as a cryomancer to cast icy spells capable of freezing enemies or creating walls for defense. Corentin can be recruited in Chapter III: A Land of Sand and Sun.
- Rudolph Mueller (pictured top right):
- He wields a longbow and various traps in combat, calling upon on his experience as a hunter to ensnare his enemies before disposing of them. Rudolph can be recruited in Chapter III: A Land of Snow and Ice.
- Julio Wrightman (pictured middle row, far-left):
- He wields a curved blade in battle, utilizing his expert clerical abilities to provide his allies with extra TP. Julio can be recruited starting in Chapter V: Encroaching Darkness.
- Narve Oparyn (pictured middle row, middle-left):
- He wields an oak rod, using it to cast a wide array of powerful elemental spells he learned from the archmage Grandante. Narve can be recruited starting in Chapter V: Encroaching Darkness.
- Picoletta (pictured middle row, middle-right):
- She wields a racquet, using the tricks she learned while performing in a circus to create duplicates of herself in combat. Picoletta can be recruited starting in Chapter VI: Remember Me.
- Medina Alliam (pictured middle row, far-right):
- She wields a knife and her medical knowledge in battle, employing her extensive experience as an apothecary to heal the wounds of her allies. Medina can be recruited starting in Chapter VI: Remember Me.
- Hossabara Freyya (pictured bottom row, far-left):
- She wields a six-sided staff on horseback in combat, using a combination of strong physical attacks and healing spells to protect her comrades. Hossabara can be recruited starting in Chapter VI: Remember Me.
- Jens Macher (pictured bottom row, middle-left):
- He wields a hammer, showing off his smithing skills while deploying all manner of traps and ladders in battle. Jens can be recruited starting in Chapter VI: Remember Me.
- Lionel Khapita (pictured bottom row, middle-right):
- He wields a whip and sharp whit in battle, relying more on the power of his words to extort coin from his opponents. Lionel can be recruited starting in Chapter VI: Remember Me.
- Ezana Qlinka (pictured bottom row, far-right):
- She wields a cane, using it as a focal point to channel the power of nature itself into terrifying magical attacks. Ezana can be recruited starting in Chapter V: Encroaching Darkness.
- Archibald Genoe (not pictured):
- He wields a bow in combat, relying on the expertise accumulated during his years spent fighting in the Saltiron War. Archibald can be recruited starting in Chapter VI: Remember Me.
Convincing all the potential units to join Team Wolffort can be a bit tricky, but it’ll be worth your while to put in the time to add these units to your roster.
