Tangrowth is an extremely powerful Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. It is a solely Grass-type Pokémon and evolves from Tangela (after learning Ancient Power). Tangrowth has a super high special attack and can deal massive damage to opponents in battle.

Because Tangrowth is Grass-type, many of the Pokémon’s most powerful moves will also be Grass-type in order to benefit from S.T.A.B. (Same Type Attack Bonus). This will allow moves to do increased damage in battle if they match the typing of the Pokémon using them. Tangrowth’s most powerful moves are Energy Ball, Sludge Bomb, Ancient Power, and Acid Spray.

Tangrowth will learn Energy Ball at level 25 (masters at level 35), Sludge Bomb at level 52 (masters at level 64), Ancient Power at level 35 (masters at level 45), and Acid Spray at level 15 (masters at level 24).

How to use Tangrowth best in battle

With Tangrowth being a sole Grass-type Pokémon, players should be aware of which typings to avoid in battle. Grass-type Pokémon are vulnerable to Fire, Flying, Bug, Ice, and Poison-type. They will do super-effective damage to Water, Rock, and Ground-type Pokémon.

Tangrowth’s base stats

  • Stat Total: 535
    • HP: 100
    • Attack: 100
    • Defense: 125
    • Special Attack: 110
    • Special Defense: 50
    • Speed: 50

Tangrowth has a great special attack and attack stat. Its special attack is slightly better, however, so players would be wise to prioritize special attacks over physical attacks when possible.
