How many Primogems will it cost you to add Cyno from Genshin Impact to your teams?

Too many! Ba-dum-ching!

Seriously though, if you added this horrible joke teller to your roster, but need help figuring out how to build him, don’t worry. We’ve got you covered.

Cyno’s playstyle in Genshin Impact

While he shares a lot of similarities with Razor, there is one major difference: Razor hits hardest as a Physical DPS. Cyno will prefer to do elemental damage, so plan for him to be the Main DPS in Aggravate or Hyperbloom team comps. If you were a fan of Razor’s “Burst then hack away” playstyle, we’ve got good news for you. Cyno will want to be in his Elemental Burst state, Pactsworn Pathclearer, as much as possible and will use it to deal wild damage.

Best weapons for Cyno in Genshin Impact

Cyno will have a five-star weapon designed just for him, Staff of the Scarlet Sands. All jokes aside about the weapon’s looks, it will make Cyno formidable. A CRIT rate sub stat is always nice to have on a weapon, and its Weapon Skill, Heat Haze at Horizon’s End, will incentivize players to build up his Elemental Mastery to boost his reaction damage and attack at the same time.

If you don’t want to pull on the weapon banner, Cyno can make good use of both Kitain Cross Spear or Moonpiercer. Both are four-star craftable weapons, though crafting Kitain Cross Spear may be easier since you may have more Northlander Billets ready to go.

Best Artifacts for Cyno in Genshin Impact

His best-in-slot Artifacts may not be native to Sumeru. Both the Thundering Fury and Gilded Dreams Artifact sets will be useful for him. Due to Thundering Fury four-piece effect matching Cyno’s playstyle, it appears to edge out the flat damage boost of the Gilded Dreams set.

When thinking about Main Stats for your artifacts, you can try the traditional Main DPS set up of CRIT / Elemental Damage % / Attack%. However, you will likely get more value out of an Elemental Mastery main stat on your Timepiece Artifact. Try to find CRIT, Attack, and Elemental Mastery substats to boost his damage even more.

Cyno’s Skills in Genshin Impact

Normal Attack- Invoker’s Spear

  • Normal Attack
    • Performs up to four consecutive spear strikes.
  • Charged Attack
    • Consumes a certain amount of Stamina to lunge forward, dealing damage to opponents along the way.
  • Plunging Attack
    • Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground below, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AoE damage upon impact.

Elemental Skill- Secret Rite: Chasmic Soulfarer

  • Performs a swift thrust, dealing Electro damage to opponents along the path.
  • When Cyno is under the Pactsworn Pathclearer state triggered by Sacred Rite: Wolf’s Swiftness, he will instead unleash a Mortuary Rite that deals thunderous AoE Electro damage and extends the duration of Pactsworn Pathclearer.

Elemental Burst- Sacred Rite: Wolf’s Swiftness

  • Calls upon a divine spirit to possess him, morphing into the Pactsworn Pathclearer.
  • Pactsworn Pathclearer:
    • Cyno’s Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks will be converted to Electro damage that cannot be overridden.
    • Cyno’s Elemental Mastery and resistance to interruption will increase, and he gains immunity to Electro-Charged damage.
  • This effect will be canceled when Cyno leaves the field and lasts a maximum of 18 seconds.

Passive Skills:

  • The Gift of Silence
    • Gains 25% more rewards when dispatched on a Sumeru Expedition for 20 hours.
  • Featherfall Judgment
    • When Cyno is in the Pactsworn Pathclearer state activated by Sacred Rite: Wolf’s Swiftness, Cyno will enter the Endseer stance at intervals. If he activates Secret Rite: Chasmic Soulfarer while affected by this stance, he will activate the Judication effect, increasing the damage of this Secret Rite: Chasmic Soulfarer by 35%, and firing off three Duststalker Bolts that deal 50% of Cyno’s attack as Electro damage.
    • Duststalker Bolt damage is considered Elemental Skill damage.
  • Authority over the Nine Bows
    • Cyno’s damage values will be increased based on his Elemental Mastery as follows:
      • Pactsworn Pathclearer’s Normal Attack DMG is increased by 125% of his Elemental Mastery.
      • Duststalker Bolt damage from his Passive Talent Featherfall Judgment is increased by 250% of his Elemental Mastery.

Cyno’s Constellations in Genshin Impact

  • Ordinance: Unceasing Vigil– Constellation level one.
    • After using Sacred Rite: Wolf’s Swiftness, Cyno’s Normal Attack speed will be increased by 20% for 10 seconds. If the Judication effect of his Passive Talent Featherfall Judgment is triggered during Secret Rite: Chasmic Soulfarer, the duration of this increase will be refreshed.
    • You need to unlock the Passive Talent “Featherfall Judgment.”
  • Ceremony: Homecoming of Spirits– Constellation level two.
    • When Cyno’s Normal Attacks hit opponents, his Normal Attack CRIT rate and CRIT damage will be increased by 3% and 6% respectively for four seconds. This effect can be triggered once every 0.1 seconds. Max five stacks. Each stack’s duration is counted independently.
  • Precept: Lawful Enforcer– Constellation level three.
    • Increases the Level of Sacred Rite: Wolf’s Swiftness by three.
    • Maximum upgrade level is 15.
  • Austerity: Forbidding Guard– Constellation level four.
    • When Cyno is in the Pactsworn Pathclearer state triggered by Sacred Rite: Wolf’s Swiftness, after he triggers Electro-Charged, Superconduct, Overloaded, Quicken, Aggravate, Hyperbloom, an Electro Swirl or an Electro Crystallization reaction, he will restore three Elemental Energy for all nearby party members (except himself.)
    • This effect can occur five times within one use of Sacred Rite: Wolf’s Swiftness.
  • Funerary Rite: The Passing of Starlight– Constellation level five.
    • Increases the Level of Secret Rite: Chasmic Soulfarer by three.
    • Maximum upgrade level is 15.
  • Raiment: Just Scales- Constellation level six.
    • After using Sacred Rite: Wolf’s Swiftness or triggering the Judication effect of the Passive Talent “Featherfall Judgment,” Cyno will gain four stacks of the “Day of the Jackal” effect. When he hits opponents with Normal Attacks, he will consume one stack of “Day of the Jackal” to fire off one Duststalker Bolt.
    • “Day of the Jackal” lasts for eight seconds. Max eight stacks. It will be canceled once Pactsworn Pathclearer ends.
    • A maximum of one Duststalker Bolt can be unleashed this way every 0.4 seconds.
    • You must first unlock the Passive Talent “Featherfall Judgment.”

What you need to ascend Cyno in Genshin Impact

Other than the standard amounts of Experience Books and Mora, you’ll need Vajrada Amethyst pieces, Divining Scrolls, Scarabs, and Thunderclap Fruitcores dropped by the Electro Regisvine to ascend Cyno. We recommended raising him all the way to level 90 as he is a main DPS character, and should be a focus for your resources. Raising all of his talents will boost his damage, but prioritize his Elemental Burst first, then his Elemental Skill, then his Normal Attack. You’ll need more Mora, Divining Scrolls, Teachings of Admonitions from the Steeple of Ignorance Domain, and Mudra of the Malefic General, which is dropped by the Raiden Shogun weekly boss.

Best teammates for Cyno in Genshin Impact

Plan to pair Cyno with mostly Dendro and Electro support units. The Dendro Traveler, Nahida, Fischl, Kuki, or Dori would all be good choices. If you want to mix in some Hydro support characters for a Hyperbloom team comp, try Xingqiu or Kokomi.
