With the reveal of the full line-up for the release of Total War: Warhammer 3, we now know precisely which factions will be in the game. With new additions such as Cathay, Ogre Kingdoms, and Kislev, many speculated that Chaos Dwarfs would be a new faction added to the game.
Unfortunately, on release, Chaos Dwarfs will not be in Total War: Warhammer 3. However, that doesn’t mean they won’t be included in a later DLC. Total War: Warhammer games are known for their numerous collections of DLCs, and with the overall theme and tone of the third installment, don’t be surprised if you see Chaos Dwarfs join in a later DLC.

With the four major Chaos factions, the chaotic kin of the Dawi (Dwarves) would fit in perfectly. Developers Creative Assembly have already plumbed the depths of Warhammer’s lore for factions like Cathay and Kislev, which have extensive information in third-party roleplaying games and the like but haven’t been officially covered in Games Workshop for decades.
What’s more, the usual allies of the Chaos Dwarfs, the Hobgoblins, would be perfect in Total War: Warhammer 3. Ruled by Hobgobla Khan, a fantasy analogue of Genghis Khan, these tall goblins would be the perfect enemy for the newly added Cathay.
So while Chaos Dwarfs are not in the game right now, they could definitely be a DLC faction in the future.
