Each class within Destiny 2 (Hunter, Titan, and Warlock) has its own unique set of subclasses and abilities based on the four elemental types in the game: Solar, Arc, Void, and most recently, Stasis. Each of these subclasses and even their respective abilities may fit certain situations and activities better than others. Also, some exotic armor pieces may upgrade or change the way one subclass works, making the combination much more unique and powerful.

For those looking to play as a Titan, it’s important to know that Titans are the strong, tank-like character of the classes. They are built to provide powerful, in-your-face, melee attacks and excellent defense for themselves and their allies.

Solar Titans are deadly in PvP with their Supers: Hammer of Sol and Burning Maul. Hammer of Sol allows you to hurl large flaming hammers down on your enemies while Burning Maul allows you to wield a large flaming maul that crushes enemies and leaves a path of flames.

Abilities

Each Titan Subclass, like every other class, also has its own unique grenade, melee, and class ability. The class ability is the only one that doesn’t change between the Titan subclasses.

  • Grenade
    • Incendiary – sets enemies ablaze when it explodes
    • Thermite – sends forward a burning line of fire
    • Fusion – explosive that attaches to enemies
  • Melee
    • Hammer Strike – while sprinting, swing a blazing hammer that weakens enemies
    • Throwing Hammer – throw a hammer from a distance, picking it up recharges it
    • Mortar Blast – strike an enemy to release an explosion, setting nearby enemies on fire
  • Class
    • Towering Barricade – place down a large barricade that protects you and allies standing behind it from enemy fire or other damage
    • Rally Barricade – a smaller barricade that can be crouched behind and peeked over to shoot. While crouched behind it, you get an increase in reload speed, stability, and range to your weapon.

Striker (Arc)

A striker Titan is all about doing the most damage possible up close. Supers like Fists of Havoc and Thundercrash really aid in this endeavor. Fists of Havoc allow you to slam the ground around you to create an AoE eruption of arc damage that stays behind for a short duration. Thundercrash, on the other hand, allows you to launch yourself like an arc meteorite toward an enemy, dealing massive damage when you hit them.

  • Grenade
    • Flashbang – disorients enemies it damages
    • Pulse – periodically damages enemies inside explosive radius
    • Lightning – sticks to any surface and emits bolts of lightning
  • Melee
    • Seismic Strike – after sprinting, slam shoulder first into your target and release an explosion
    • Ballistic Slam – after sprinting, leap into the air and slam the ground to damage nearby enemies
    • Frontal Assault – strike an enemy to reload your weapon and increase stability and range

Sentinel (Void)

Sentinel Titans can still put up great damage but they also allow for more protection and damage buffing for themselves and their allies. The Supers Sentinel Shield and Ward of Dawn help this subclass become one of support and defense. Sentinel Shield allows you to become Captain America in a way, by throwing a large Void shield around that can ricochet off walls. Ward of Dawn, on the other hand, allows you to place down a large protective bubble that provides damage buffs to all allies who enter it.

  • Grenade
    • Magnetic – attaches to enemies and explodes twice
    • Voidwall – create a horizontal wall of burning Void Light
    • Suppressor – suppresses enemies from using their abilities for a short time
  • Melee
    • Defensive Strike – defeat an enemy to create an overshield around you and your allies
    • Tactical Strike – strike an enemy to cause a Void explosion
    • Shield Bash – after sprinting, unleash a shield bash that disorients enemies and suppresses the target

Behemoth (Stasis)

The newest Stasis-based subclass offers Titans an immensely powerful Super called Glacial Quake. It allows you to forge a Stasis gauntlet that can be used to slam the ground, sending glaciers all over to freeze and eliminate enemies.

  • Grenade
    • Glacier – upon hitting the ground, Stasis crystals grow from the ground and freeze enemies too close to them. Destroy the crystals to kill the enemies.
    • Coldsnap – Upon impact, a Stasis bolt will seek the closest enemy and freeze them. Then it will go after two other targets.
    • Duskfield – creates a dome-like Stasis field that sucks enemies in. Once trapped inside, they will be slowed and if trapped long enough then they will freeze.
  • Melee
    • Shiver Strike – uses the Stasis gauntlet to lunge forward with incredible speed and take out anything in their way. Once they reach their target, it sends them backwards and nearby enemies get slowed.
