One of the many fun things you can do in Rune Factory 5 is befriend the monsters. Certain monsters can produce one item per day for you, though many of them are better suited for battle. Boss monsters are a prime example of this.

Below are all the tameable bosses in the game:

  • Nine-Tailed Fox
  • Cerberus
  • Needle Beast
  • Geyser Bear
  • Mysterious Lizard
  • Dragon Golem
  • Hecatonchire
  • Deader Tree
  • Green Kaiser
  • Dark Lizard
  • Volcanic Dragon
  • Medusa
  • Wood Golem
  • Aries
  • Audumbla
  • Blazing Hecatonchire
  • Murder Beast
  • Hell’s Pincers
  • Garon
  • Shoebert
  • Arachne

Of course, not every monster is tamable and those that can be tamed can only be enticed with specific items. Fortunately, the method to befriending them is the same:

  1. Go back to the boss’ spawn location after your first battle with it.
  2. Brush them until the music note icon stops appearing above its head. This will make them friendlier toward you and, thus, easier to capture.
  3. Do not attack the boss. Instead, give it items that it likes. You’ll know you’re doing it right once you see the heart icon over its head with every gift. It will take a while, but it will eventually come with you.
