Genshin Impact‘s ever-evolving cast of characters is one of the game’s greatest features, and it’s easy to feel attached to them with all of the unique character backstories and witty dialogue we’re given. Read on to see which characters share a zodiac sign, or even a birthday, with you!
Note: Since miHoYo has not released official character ages, much of this information is based on speculation from lore, game conversations, comics, and other Genshin Impact sources. As more information on the characters becomes available, we’ll be sure to update this list.

Albedo

- Zodiac: Virgo
Albedo is a perfectionist to the end. He excels in any task he undertakes, whether that be potion-mixing, painting, or delivering an incredibly cryptic line as Traveler leaves the scene. It’s worth noting, too, that Virgo represents the Alchemist.
Amber
- Age: 20
- Birthday: August 10
- Zodiac: Leo
Fiery Amber just can’t seem to sit still, and her passionate energy is reflected by her Leo star sign. Mondstadt’s favorite (or should we say, infamous) Outrider is always ready to lend a hand to those in need.
Ayaka
- Age: N/A
- Birthday: September 28
- Zodiac: Libra
The elegant princess of Inazuma is an eagerly-awaited character who will hopefully be joining the rest of the cast by June. Harmonious Libras are natural diplomats, so it seems likely that Ayaka will bring a fair, level-headed approach to whatever quests she’ll be involved with.
Barbara
- Age: 16
- Birthday: July 5
- Zodiac: Cancer
Cancers are known for their protective, compassionate natures, and Barbara is no exception. Along with being a popular idol, Barbara takes her role as Deaconess of the Favonius Church seriously and uses her position to help others.
Beidou
- Age: 27
- Birthday: February 14
- Zodiac: Aquarius
It makes sense that Beidou is an Aquarius, aka the Water-Bearer. This beloved captain of the Crux is a Liyue legend, rumored to split sea beasts in two and even calm the most catastrophic of storms.
Bennett
- Age: 16
- Birthday: February 29
- Zodiac: Pisces
Always optimistic, Bennett doesn’t let things like perpetual misfortune get him down—even if all that bad luck has chased away everyone who used to be in the “Benny’s Adventure Team.” There’s a reason why Katheryne refuses to tell him the truth about those absences; she doesn’t want to break his gentle heart!
Chongyun
- Age: 17
- Birthday: September 7
- Zodiac: Virgo
Chongyun is such an effective exorcist that he doesn’t even need to perform his ritualistic duties to scare away spirits—they flee at the first sight of him! A natural Virgo, Chongyun despises taking the “easy way out,” so his solution to offsetting his inherent skill is to deny himself warmth (no sun or spicy foods) and practice being calm at all times. Call it excessive if you want, but you can’t deny his diligence.
Diluc

- Zodiac: Taurus
Known to be the wealthiest man in Mondstadt due to his winery empire, Diluc embodies two vital traits of the Taurus sign: money and food. He also proves to be incessantly stubborn at all times, though this translates to a remarkably reliable presence during crises. When Mondstadt is ever endangered, you’ll know that Diluc has your back.
Diona

- Zodiac: Capricorn
Capricorn is the hardest worker out of the Zodiac, and Diona is famous for making the best drinks in Mondstadt despite the fact that she hates wine! Acting as the self-proclaimed “Wine Industry Slayer,” Diona consistently tries to mix the most disgusting drinks to no avail; her magic touch ensures that everything she creates is a delight. Hang in there, Diona!
Fischl
- Age: 15
- Birthday: May 27
- Zodiac: Gemini
Like Gemini, the sign of the Twins, Fischl is an intriguing character because she displays dual personalities. Claiming to have arrived from another world, Fischl is quick to stick her nose in others’ business, but isn’t as forthcoming about her own past. That said, she clearly cares about the well-being of other people and is willing to get her hands dirty if it means bringing about justice.
Ganyu

- Zodiac: Sagittarius
The loveable secretary to the Liyue Qixing, Ganyu doesn’t allow prejudices to serve as obstacles in the way of making friends. As a result, Ganyu became close to Beidou, despite the fact that the other Qixing despise the Crux’s captain. Sweet-natured and studious, Ganyu represents the best traits of free-loving Sagittarius.
Hu Tao

Described by Zhongli to be “whimsical,” Hu Tao doesn’t seem like a typical water sign at first glance. In fact, her explosive nature can rile up the usually docile Qiqi! Still, Hu Tao’s line of work at the Funeral Parlor involves carrying souls to the other side, and she’s not above telling a white lie if it will help someone calm down.
Jean

As the acting Grand Master for the Knights of Favonius, Jean will run herself to exhaustion if it means getting all the necessary paperwork done. Though she may seem aloof at times, the Dandelion Knight’s caring heart, paired with her hard-working spirit, has won her public admiration from everyone in Mondstadt—even Diluc, who dislikes the Knights order.
Kaeya

- Zodiac: Scorpio
Despite his charming demeanor, Kaeya hides some dark secrets and, as a result, holds others at arm’s length. He also reveals quite the sadistic penchant for toying with people’s emotions—or even livelihoods—so long as it provides him entertainment.
Keqing

- Zodiac: Scorpio
Scorpios are characterized by their willingness to brave the depths, and this describes Keqing’s attitude towards her own endeavors. Skeptical, yet hard-working, Keqing refuses to sit idly by while the people of Liyue are in danger. In constant conflict with the gods, she holds the belief that humans should direct their own futures.
Klee

- Zodiac: Leo
For such a small child, Klee has a pretty odd hobby, considering that her favorite pastime is watching things explode! Although her antics can drive the Knights of Favonius mad, it’s clear that Klee just wants to make friends with the others. Unfortunately for Jean, Klee has some interesting ideas about what counts as “playtime.”
Lisa
- Age: 32
- Birthday: June 9
- Zodiac: Cancer
This Librarian is famous for other reasons besides climbing mountains—the open affection she showers Traveler with, for instance, is only rivaled by the intense devotion she gives to the books she guards (especially those in the restricted section). Charming and coy, the Witch of Purple Rose is a hard character not to love.
Mona
- Age: 19
- Birthday: August 31
- Zodiac: Virgo
As critical about others as she is to herself, Mona isn’t one to beat around the bush. Due to her blunt (and often downright rude) fortune readings, she’s quick to chase away potential customers and, as a result, has little income. Mona claims she doesn’t want to belittle the art of astrology by earning money from her skills, but her grumbling stomach says otherwise.
Ningguang

- Zodiac: Virgo
The meticulous and clever Ningguang is on a whole other level from Liyue’s inhabitants. No, really—this Qixing member lives on the Jade Chamber, a floating monument that looks down over the land from the clouds. Wealthy beyond measure, Ningguang is constantly formulating business plans to improve all of Liyue.
Noelle

- Zodiac: Aries
If there’s any task that needs completing, Noelle has probably already taken care of the issue before others were even made aware of it. Ambitious and loyal beyond belief, Noelle is the ultimate maid—though her real dream is to eventually join the ranks of the Knights of Favonius herself.
Qiqi
- Age: 8 in appearance, 100+ chronologically
- Birthday: March 3
- Zodiac: Pisces
This sweet zombie girl always seems to be in her own world, much like dreamy Pisces. But who can blame Qiqi for being so forgetful when she’s spent the last century encased in amber? And no, we don’t mean that Amber—although it seems likely that her hugs could also result in long, supernatural slumbers.
Razor
- Age: 16
- Birthday: September 9
- Zodiac: Virgo
Before joining the team, Razor fended for himself by hunting and foraging in the wilds. His self-sufficiency is a prime example of the Virgo archetype, not to mention the reliability he offers the team after bonding with Traveler. Good boy, indeed.
Rosaria

- Birthday: January 24
- Zodiac: Aquarius
Cold and analytical, Rosaria’s role as a sister in the Church of Favonius can come as quite the shock. Like Aquarius, an air sign that rules over the mind, Rosaria is quick to reject anything that disinterests her—like choir practice with her fellow church members. She has proven to be insightful about the true natures of others, as evidenced by her caution around Albedo.
Sucrose

- Zodiac: Sagittarius
Sucrose, who works as an assistant to Albedo, is repeatedly noted for being intensely curious about the world. She refers to her research as the “pursuit of truth,” demonstrating the intellectual, ever-exploratory traits of her zodiac sign.
Tartaglia
- Age: 21
- Birthday: July 20
- Zodiac: Cancer
Childe, or Tartaglia, seems intent on labeling himself as a bad guy. Despite his position as a Fatui Harbinger, it’s worth noting that he doesn’t operate with the same under-handed tactics that his fellow Harbingers prefer to take. Tartaglia also displays a great love for his family, sending home tokens and letters quite frequently. So he does have a heart!
Traveler

- Birthday: Up to Player
- Zodiac: Up to Player
Traveler is the only 5-star character you’ve automatically given, so you’re definitely going to play as them, right?… Ahem. Anyways, we’re all familiar with Traveler’s origin of crossing worlds with their twin until the day of separation, since it’s the backstory that Genshin Impact opens with. I think we’re all eagerly awaiting that reunion!
Venti
- Age: 15 in appearance, 2,600+ chronologically
- Birthday: June 16
- Zodiac: Gemini
Venti’s backstory might bring you to tears, but you’d never know it by the bard’s outwardly playful nature. A true air sign, Venti can ride the winds when he’s not downing thirty-seven glasses of wine—and making an enemy of Diluc in the process. While he can be flighty (no pun intended), Venti protects Mondstadt with all his might to ensure it remains a land of infinite freedom.
Xiangling
- Age: 14
- Birthday: November 2
- Zodiac: Scorpio
Xiangling’s passion for creating incredible culinary dishes is unmatched by anyone else in Teyvat. Despite having a warm personality—Xiangling prioritizes her customers’ happiness over the mora she could be earning—her assertive side comes out when it’s meal-time. Xiangling isn’t afraid to try an unconventional approach, even using ingredients that might disgust the very people she’s cooking for!
Xiao
- Age: 2,000+
- Birthday: April 17
- Zodiac: Aries
This reclusive adeptus isn’t as cold as he appears to be upon initially meeting. Cursed with negative karma, Xiao chooses to distance himself from others as a means to protect them, but he won’t hesitate to take action if it means saving Liyue and its people. Surprisingly, Xiao can be quite polite under that gruff demeanor.
Xingqui

- Zodiac: Libra
Born to the influential Feiyun Commerce Guild, Xingqui dreams of becoming one of the heroes he grew up reading about. Chivalry and justice are the two most important values to him, which aligns perfectly with the traits embodied by Libra, his star sign.
Xinyan

- Birthday: October 16
- Zodiac: Libra
Instead of embracing tradition, Xinyan rejects it. Her mission is to make rock ‘n’ roll, an unrecognized genre, popular in Liyue. Ruled by the planet Venus, it makes sense that Xinyan would choose to express her ideas through music and song.
Zhongli

- Birthday: December 31
- Zodiac: Capricorn
The only character whose lifespan far exceeds Traveler’s, Zhongli fits every Capricorn stereotype: serious, reserved, and always looking to the next big project. Now if only he could remember to keep some Mora in his pockets…
